Quest for Love
This British sci-fi comedy, adapted from a John Wyndham story, follows a man’s search to find the ideal woman whom he briefly meets in a parallel universe.
Director: Ralph Thomas
Overview
Ralph Thomas – best known as director of the Dirk Bogarde/Doctor film series – adapts a John Wyndham story for this British sci-fi comedy which offers a sunnier spin on the H.G Wells-esque idea of an alternate British history.
A scientist transports himself to a parallel universe where the Second World War and space race never happened. Not only is this vision of Britain more optimistic, but he’s successful with a beautiful wife to boot. But when he’s accidentally returned to grim 1970s London, he tries to track down the real-world equivalent of his utopian wife.
