The Good Boy

15 rating

Stephen Graham and Andrea Riseborough excel in Jan Komasa’s gripping and twisted thriller, where breaking the rules results in severe consequences.

19-year-old Tommy (Anson Boon) has been a very naughty boy, living an unruly life of criminality and vice. But when he is kidnapped by a stranger, he finds himself trapped in a deeply dysfunctional family dynamic, where he is forced - through punishment, reward and chloroform - to change his attitude and be a good boy.

Naqqash Khalid’s (In Camera) unsettling screenplay intentionally clouds characters’ motives, accentuating the unbearable suspense as events unfold. Screened at the BFI London Film Festival 2025.
