Possibly the cutest and quirkiest road safety film you are ever likely to watch, featuring a purely canine cast and a grocery shopping trip.

In the days before shock tactics were used to deliver road safety messages, a completely canine cast (on loan from a local police officer) feature in this film produced for the Cambridge Accident Prevention Council. As the story goes, Jill the Golden Labrador drives her car to the Doggie Stores. As she heads home, Jill waits patiently as a pack of pups cross the road before her. Thankfully, these dogs know their “kerb drill” and are safe to cross the road.

Mr William King and his son Ken King made this short road safety film for the Cambridge Accident Prevention Council. Mr William King was a successful business owner in Cambridge, as a director for King & Harper Ltd, owners of a garage and petrol station and later a department store selling modern electrical goods. Mr King was a keen amateur film maker and filmed many of his business activities and work occasions.
