Overview
Nothing but the best china for Ginger Tom. In the 1950s it was common to give food to your pet animals off old pieces of crockery. The cobalt blue suggests a piece of Spode. Ginger Tom is a tiger in his own domain. He even matches the pond goldfish for Kodachrome colour.
Historically ancient Egypt is believed to be the site for domesticated cats with their images depicted on 3,600-year-old tomb walls but a 9,500-year-old grave has been uncovered in Cyprus where a domesticated cat is buried beside its owner. There is evidence also to suggest that cats were living with humans over 5,000 years ago in China.
