Eastern Boys
A gay pick-up turns into a dangerous game of betrayal and violence in this slyly subversive and compelling thriller.
Director: Robin Campillo
Overview
A man enlists the sexual services of an East European hustler he meets outside a railway station, but gets more than he bargained for when the boy turns up at his home the next day and a dangerous game of deception unfolds
Divided into four acts, each of which offers a new twist on what has gone before, this gripping, intelligent and ultimately poignant thriller is the long-awaited second feature from Robin Campillo, co-writer and regular collaborator of Laurent Cantet (The Class) and director of Les Revenants, inspiration for the hit French zombie series, The Returned. Combining sly subversion with surprisingly heartfelt drama, Eastern Boys also offers an urgent commentary on the commodification of sex within migrant communities.
