Overview
This powerful and provocative war drama recounts the final days of the Second World War from the perspective of Adolf Hitler’s private secretary, Traudl Junge. As the Allied forces close in on Berlin, Hitler and his inner circle barricade themselves in the Führerbunker, with Hitler insisting his generals keep fighting. Many vow to stand by him, but Traudl tries to escape.
This unprecedented and controversial insider’s perspective is a gripping insight into Hitler’s madness and desperation as Berlin and the Third Reich crumbled around him. Fearlessly directed by Oliver Hirschbiegel, the film is anchored by Bruno Ganz’s astonishing performance as history’s most notorious figure - made all the more chilling by its humanising detail.
