Underground
The BFI National Archive restoration of one of Anthony Asquith's finest silent films set in London's Underground, with a new score.
Director: Anthony Asquith
Overview
Underground tells the story of the lives and loves of four young working people in 1920s London. Parallels with life in the metropolis today are poignant and it is fascinating to see the locations particularly of the Underground, the pubs and shops in which the drama unfolds. Assured filmmaking with the occasional impressive flourish, a trademark of Anthony Asquith’s directorial style. With new score by Neil Brand and the BBC Symphony Orchestra.
