Paddington
Unexpectedly beautiful and bewitching return for the marmalade-loving bear with a sense of adventure.
Children's 2014 95 mins
Director: Paul King
Overview
The marmalade-loving bear from Peru returns after a long absence from our screens, now computer animated and perfectly voiced by Ben Whishaw. Hugh Bonneville and Sally Hawkins play the couple who take him into their family home, while Nicole Kidman indulges in supreme iciness as the evil taxidermist who wants turn Paddington into a museum piece.
Director Paul King (The Mighty Boosh) mixes just the right amount of knowing adult humour and fast-paced, modern adventure to appeal to all audiences, imbuing the story with charm, intelligence and a dash of Wes Anderson-esque whimsy.
