Timestalker
What if unrequited love spanned the centuries? Alice Lowe's time-jumping fantasy rom-com is a colourful, darkly funny treat.
Director: Alice Lowe
Overview
Is there anything more romantic than two souls repeatedly finding each other in various lifetimes, across centuries? In her eccentric fantasy rom-com, Alice Lowe (Prevenge, Sightseers) asks what if such a powerful love was unrequited. In 1680s Scotland, when peasant Agnes locks eyes with priest Alex, she instantly falls in love. Determined he is her destiny; she pursues him without success. However, together they are to be reincarnated in a variety of times and places, giving Agnes another chance at securing her soulmate.
Lowe's playful spin on a time travelling romance is lively, layered, and peppered with her trademark hilarious, dark deadpan humour. We are treated to vibrant colour palettes and many elaborate looks as Agnes canters through various eras. Timestalker was made with the support of the BFI, awarding National Lottery funding.
