The Triple Echo
Oliver Reed and Glenda Jackson star in the rarely seen drama about an AWOL soldier who disguises as a woman to avoid capture.
Director: Michael Apted
Overview
During WWII, a deserting soldier (Brian Deacon) is offered refuge by a sympathetic farmer (Glenda Jackson). To avoid capture he dresses as a woman and invents a new persona, ‘Jill’, but runs into trouble when the Sergeant (Oliver Reed) who’s searching for him takes a fancy to his alter ego.
Long out of circulation, this off-kilter wartime drama was both the feature debut of director Michael Apted (7-Up) and also one of the first films funded by independent production company Hemdale.
