The Queen at Sheffield
Sheffield gives the capital a run for its money with an impressive parade celebrating the monarch, a month before the Diamond Jubilee.
From the collection of:

Overview
On the 21st of May, the Queen was in Sheffield to open the Town Hall, and a cameraman – potentially one of the Riley Brothers, early adopters and adapters of Cecil Wray’s Kinetoscope Projector – was there to film the occasion. This piece of footage shows that Sheffield was just as capable of celebrating royalty as the capital. Clearly visible are the Household Cavalry, and although Victoria is obscured by a veil and a parasol, the nodding face of her daughter Helena (who served as her mother’s unofficial secretary and companion) is captured as they pass.
