        Overview

As the sun shines down upon them, the women who work on Oliver’s Farm in Colchester clean and pack the apples of the colourful orchard. Of course, not everyone is keen to be on camera, as one shy lady, giggling, hides as best she can! The orchard belongs to Denis Knowles, a keen home movie maker, who also enjoyed capturing his working family on film. By all accounts, it was a happy workforce and films of the harvest and other events were shown to entertain the staff at parties.
