The Mirocle

It’s all me, me, me – this experimental animation on the Self wittily wraps up Jung and old philosophies in a clever Paul Klee-inspired design

Animation & Artists Moving Image 1976 13 mins

Overview

You don’t have to be Jungian to watch here, but it helps. This animated exploration of the Self has plenty of clever design and intrigue to interest the casual viewer, but it is rooted in a rather nifty visualisation of Carl Jung’s concept of ego and the Self. The visual style of the film was influenced by the work of Paul Klee, and the central hand/bird/self character is particularly neat idea. Jack Daniel made the film with assistance from the BFI Production Board.
