Overview

As Britain emerges from the Falklands War in 1982, a Northumbrian-born amateur filmmaker captures a colourful array of floats, bands and characters on his Super-8 camera as they assemble for an impressive Lord Mayors Parade in Newcastle-upon-Tyne. Armoured tanks, soldiers in camouflage, a gorilla and a mean bunch of cowboys collide with can-can dancers and a walking Tyneside Metro to create a surreal spectacle on the city streets.
