Overview

A look at the world of junior engineers and workers at Newcastle and Gateshead Water Company. This educational amateur film traces the chain of water supply from river and reservoir to the taps of the Tyneside region - and an elephants’ bath time on Newcastle’s Town Moor. There are glimpses at the work of a water treatment centre and Victorian pumping station, but we haven’t identified the locations. The Whittle Dene complex west of Newcastle is one possibility.
