There’s no need to agonise over breakfast choices when agony aunt Marje Proops is on the case.

Advert 1963 1 mins

Overview

Dear Marje, I have a problem… what on earth are ‘E for B’? Marjorie Proops was the epitome of the tabloid agony aunt, spreading into all areas of popular culture in her day. Note the less than subtle product placement from her employers the Daily Mirror, as a newspaper is lobbed onto her desk mid-shot. ‘E for B’? Eggs for Breakfast!

The ‘Miss X’ headline on the newspaper pinpoints this ad taking place during the infamous Profumo Affair, when an anonymous woman give evidence during the trial of Christine Keeler’s landlord, causing frenzied tabloid speculation.
