Overview

Charlie’s new wife leaves him just before a rich uncle’s visit and he is forced to improvise to keep his inheritance. A comedy staple since the silent movie era, cross-dressing is at the heart of this frisky, 1930s theatrical farce. Charlie’s friend Bud never really looks like a woman, despite lashings of war paint and a Mae West wig, but hey, nobody’s perfect!

This film was produced by Newcastle and District Amateur Cinematographers’ Association (ACA), one of the first five cine clubs in England, founded in 1927.
