Overview
Local filmmaker Sydney Martin beautifully captures the cheery atmosphere and many attractions of a traditional funfair in Woodford. Wearing their Sunday best, crowds file out of trams and descend on a local park to enjoy the helter skelter, merry-go-round, swings and competitions. And if you prefer more grown-up amusements, why not head down to the pub to join the worn-out fairgoers sitting around in the sunshine, sipping on pints of the "great stuff".
This film is from the collection of Redbridge Museum, Local Studies and Archives.
