The Taste of Mango

12 rating

Sleepwalking into submerged depths of memory, this fascinating film tenderly untangles the knots of the past.

Filmmaker Chloe Abrahams’ affectionate and frank feature documentary debut unpeels the layers of her family history to reveal the fibres that bind mothers and daughters. Three generations, spanning London to Sri Lanka, are woven into this poetic, meditative film that flows through time and the occasional country music banger.

The Taste of Mango was made with the support of the BFI Doc Society Fund, awarding National Lottery funding.
