The Music Machine

Get Saturday night fever - North London style - with Patti Boulaye and Gerry Sundquist in this bubbly British disco drama.

Drama 1979 90 mins

Director: Ian Sharp

Overview

Lovely live venue The Music Machine in Camden (later renamed The Camden Palace, then Koko) provides the glitzy glitter-ball backdrop for this hugely entertaining North London disco dance contest drama, with fine performances from Gerry Sundquist and pop princess Patti Boulaye. Sterling support comes from Michael Feast, outstanding as a gangster plotting to rig the contest.

Actor Clarke Peters, making an excellent feature film debut as fleet-footed DJ Laurie, would go on to find international acclaim in the highly regarded American television series The Wire.
