The spirit of Patricia Highsmith comes to Brighton in this sinuous psychological thriller. Despite knowing little about him, Lily (Phoebe Naughton) invites her new boyfriend Finn (Andrew Mullan) to stay at her opulent Sussex home. But when her watchful brother Jamie (George Stocks) discovers Finn's dark secret he uses it to initiate a dangerous game.
This impressively mounted independent thriller wears its influences - the books of Patrician Highsmith and the films of Roman Polanski - on its sleeves, but conjures its own atmosphere of perversely delicious dread, achieved through the contrast of disarmingly sun-kissed cinematography with an ominous orchestral score.
