It's all jumps, jodhpurs and tweed in Jim Mills' remarkable film about the New Forest Pony Club in 1954
Jim Mills' film about the New Forest Pony Club starts at a gymkhana held in the grounds of Somerley House, near Ringwood. We see club members chatting by tents and views of the house and staff. Then the riders, mostly girls, take part in various horse-handling routines as well as riding games. We then see a pair of riders on a heath before seeing a hunt assemble outside the Balmer Lawn Hotel in Brockenhurst. The film ends with another meet and a group photo of the club's members.
