Spanning from 1897 to the present day, the films in the Digital Film Archive cover all aspects of life in Northern Ireland and includes everything from dramas to documentaries, newsreels and features, animation to amateur footage.

Overview
This film takes us on a journey around a variety of Belfast streets in the 1970s. There is a striking contrast between the various locations and buildings on display, be it the stark industrial, leafy residential, areas of deprivation, or the classic red brick Victorian terraces.
Amongst those streets visited are Joy Street, Riley's Court, Maryville Street, the Gas Works, Victoria Street, Chamber's Street, Charleville Court, Lisburn Road, Balmoral and the Belgravia Hotel. The Belgravia Hotel was bombed by the provisional IRA in July 1979. After this attack, the building was deemed structurally unsafe and demolished.
