A baby’s christening is followed by a garden party, and then excitable splashing during the heatwave that hit London in 1976.

The summer of 1976 was one of the hottest on record, and this film shows two young children cooling off – the elder sister in a paddling pool while her baby brother makes do with a washing up bucket. Before that, we see the christening of baby Peter at a Catholic church in Epsom, followed by a party in family home in Epsom. Includes good exterior street scenes outside the church and some fine 70s decor, like the swinging wicker egg chair in the living room.
