Overview
Four pence for a return ticket on one of the steepest and shortest railway lines in Britain. The funicular railway at Bridgnorth was opened in 1892 using a water and gravity system before being converted to electricity during the Second World War. This 1972 news report gives Sue Jay a chance to try out for the vacant position of operator on the train that takes tourists and locals between High Town and Low Town in this scenic resort.
