Midlands Holiday Report
Drab, dreary and untidy. That's the view of a local councillor but what do holidaymakers think about a visit to Skegness?
From the collection of:

Overview
"Skeggy: holiday playground for that part of the East Coast just up a bit from the Wash" is probably not going to become a catchy slogan for the resort of Skegness but this ATV Today item from Bev Smith goes some way to explain its appeal to visitors. There are just not that many seaside resorts you can get to with relative ease from the Midlands. Typifying Skeg dedication, Bev even finds a family of day trippers who have travelled for five hours from far off Walsall.
The summer of 1977 was the final one for Skegness's pier before it was washed away in a storm over the following winter.
