Brighton is the subject of this nostalgic film made at the end of the Sixties. Wistful in tone, its maker delights in what remains of the old town's charms and character.
A filmmaker returns to Brighton and reminisces about the past in this visual essay from 1969. He captures views of the Royal Pavilion, the beach and the Veteran Car Rally. We also see the Lanes, the Volks Railway and local fisherman, before moving to the Open Market. Wandering up and down the promenade, the filmmaker comments on the impact of modern buildings on Brighton's Regency heritage. He ends with wistful comments and scenes of Brighton's various illuminations.
