Joining the Countrywide Holiday Association after the war to keep fit brought Jo Peters another reward - a wife!
As a keen member of the London Countrywide Holiday Association, Jo Peters would look forward to his weekend ramble with fellow club members and usually take his camera along.
Working in the print trade in Watford, the Club took him to various places in the South East. His fiancee Margaret is on the walks he recorded - they married the following year. In country tweeds and ties, a far cry from today's more relaxed and comfortable kit, young men and women of the LHCA would meet to plan their routes to explore the countryside around London. The ramblers certainly covered some ground. This film shows a series of walks in Buckinghamshire and Kent and then another weekend takes them by train to Essex where they followed the path to Great Baddow, making the most of refreshment stops on the way. It was rambling that lead to love for Jo and Margaret Peters.
