Cup Final 1927
Cardiff City Football Club takes on Arsenal in the 1927 FA Cup Final at Wembley. King George V and 100,000 spectators see Cardiff win 1-0.
Overview
The 1927 FA Cup final saw Cardiff City play Arsenal in front of George V and a capacity crowd at Wembley. The great Herbert Chapman had recently taken over at Arsenal and an easy win was predicted, but as they failed to breach the Welsh defence, Hughie Ferguson scored the only goal with a low shot fumbled over the line by the Arsenal keeper. The Cup was won by a non-English team for the first time.
