Overview
From cheese making in Norway to the latest production lines at Team Valley Trading Estates in Gateshead, this delectable film promotes the famous Primula Cheese brand from Kavli - its roots in Norwegian blue (the food variety) rather than Nordic noir. Suggestions for cheesy canapés are a tasty bonus.
Primula Cheese was first sold to the British market in 1929. The firm moved from its Cramlington base to a brand new, purpose-built site on the Team Valley Trading Estate in 1961, from where it still operates. King George VI and Queen Elizabeth opened this new estate on 22 February 1939, built to alleviate Depression era unemployment. It was billed as the finest trading estate in Europe and based on the modern urban planning of a suburb such as Welwyn Garden City, distinct from the ‘smog, roar, dust and fumes of the city’ and the contentious industrial landscapes of the north.
