Reminiscences of Our 1932 Summer Holiday at Scarborough

A stylish bunch set off from Northwood to North Yorkshire for a trip to the seaside

Home movie 1932 15 mins Silent

Overview

Featuring Scarborough Italian Gardens, Whitby, Cayton Bay and Robin Hood’s Bay, this is a very thorough account of holiday hijinks in North Yorkshire. Setting off in the motor at 6am, this family is determined to have the best possible holiday and it is lovingly presented with jazzy intertitles and slow motion camera tricks. Dad’s cheeky whisky and a swimming costume mishap near the end give a saucy seaside postcard flavour too.
