London Street Scenes - Trafalgar Square
Spot the changes and continuities in this majestic Edwardian panorama of Trafalgar Square.
Overview
This majestic Edwardian panorama of Trafalgar Square takes in the National Gallery and St. Martin in the Fields, finishing at the start of the Strand. Charing Cross Underground Station and the pedestrian underpass are seen under construction, while the current site of South Africa House, constructed in the 1930s, is occupied by a hotel. Note the horse-drawn traffic on the now pedestrianised area in front of the National Gallery.
Digitisation supported by the London Topographical Society.
