White Musk

Tensions arise when a young Sudanese woman becomes her mother's primary caregiver.

Loosely based on the filmmaker's own experiences of caregiving for matriarchs in their family, White Musk explores the tensions that arises out of parenting one's parent. Unfolding across three chapters - each one a variation on gestures of caregiving - the film reflects on what is left unsaid between complex mother-daughter relationships in Sudanese immigrant households.
