Anker is a bank robber newly released after years in prison. Before he was caught, he entrusted his brother Manfred (Mads Mikkelsen) with a bag full of cash. However, Manfred is convinced he is now John Lennon, has a compulsion for stealing dogs and is unable to recall where he hid the money. Together, they return to their family home to find the fortune and dig up long-buried personal traumas.

Writer-director Anders Thomas Jensen reunites with longtime collaborators Mads Mikkelsen, Nikolaj Lie Kaas and Sofie Gråbøl for this dark crime comedy, which bounces between slapstick humour and shocking violence. It was a major box office success in its native Denmark and is Jensen’s highest-selling film to date.
