What appears to be a polite meeting for afternoon tea descends into an orgy of salacious gossip. We can only imagine what scandalous tittle-tattle these two ladies are sharing, but judging by their hilarious reactions, it's well worth listening in on. This is a 'facial' comedy: a film made to find fun in a series of exaggerated comic faces. As these two ladies out-do each other in outrage, they become more and more animated - hardly the prim Victorian matrons of the popular imagination.
