Welford and Weston Silver Jubilee 1977

Get out the flags and bunting and don't forget the tombola and ice cream it's time for a party as Silver Jubilee fever takes over the villages of Welford and Weston on Avon.

The Silver Jubilee is a good chance for Welford on Avon to show off its biggest feature: a full twenty feet of maypole. Looming over the village green this monster in red, white and blue dwarfs the children dancing beneath it but provides a fitting ending to a celebratory record of events one day in June 1977.
