Tigg Family Film No 16
Several funfairs and agricultural shows feature in this amateur film, as well as a hop-picking excursion to Kent
Overview
This wonderfully clear, well-shot amateur film features trips to several funfairs and agricultural shows in Tring, Barnet and Hampstead Heath. The steam powered rides and slides look like terrific fun, while skills are on show with basket weaving and at the coconut shy - there's even an appearance from Pearly royalty. The second segment of the film may be a Cine Kodagraph, showing hop picking in Kent before concluding with an enjoyable beer.
The home movies made by the extended Tigg-Osborne clan span several generations of family life, many of which are held in the BFI National Archive.
