The Wonderful Wye
Enjoy these charming scenes of Powys follies at Llandrindod Wells, rescued from the cutting room floor
Overview
Wanted: local women to appear in film. Must be able to drink from empty cups, play golf, bowls and tennis, and wear ridiculously tall hats. Costume supplied. Apply to the Topical Film Company. Such an advert never appeared of course, but the characters in this entertaining footage shot at the Rock Park Pump House in Llandrindod Wells some 90 years ago certainly fit the bill. The finished film, which also survives, was part of a travelogue series titled Beauties of Britain.
