Beautiful amateur account of the English countryside through the seasons
Overview
Beginning with winter and running through the seasons, this lovely record of English countryside is positively bucolic. War seems distant as the only indication of current events are the land girls working in the fields. Sledding in the snow gives way to budding crocuses and blooming flowers are followed by falling leaves. The May queen comes before a glimpse of real royalty as Queen Mary and Queen Elizabeth (Queen Consort) tour the gardens of Windsor Castle. The colour from the original Kodachrome film stock looks radiant.
