The Baker
An experienced Halifax baker takes us behind the counter and showcases his sweet and savoury secrets in this endearing short film.

Overview
A Halifax baker’s skill and experience borders on artistry in this comprehensive film detailing the production of sweet and savoury food in an independent bakery. The camera remains in close-up for the majority of the film in order to appreciate the handiwork of the bakers and the detail that is added to each individual item.
Despite the dominance of supermarkets in the UK since the 1960s, independent bakeries have been on the rise in the many areas since the millennium. Bakeries have had to adopt new products to compete with supermarkets including special health food ranges.
