Talybont Show and Corn Cutting
Tal-y-Bont Show brings the farming community together after the Davies' harvest has been safely gathered in at 'Dolclettwr', Taliesin.

Overview
The Davies family of 'Dolclettwr' farm, Taliesin, Ceredigion, welcome help at harvesting time from the James family of Moelcerni, Clarach. Mrs George and her daughter visit from New Cross and the Davieses, in their turn, visit a relative in Bala who has a broken arm. The community comes together at the Tal-y-bont Show and, it being summer, roses are in bloom around Dolclettwr's front door. There are also shots of Mrs Davies' family graves at Pen-y-Garn, Bow Street.
Mary Gwendoline Jane Davies, known as Gwen, is one of the few female camera operators behind home movie footage in The National Screen and Sound Archive's film collection – it was usually 'Dad' who did the shooting. She recorded family and community events and it was fortunate that she deposited her original material at the Archive before 'Dolclettwr' was badly damaged by a fire which consumed the video copies the Archive had provided her with.
