Sunday Parade in East Park in Hull (1904)
A grand day out in Edwardian Hull.
Overview
The occasion of this parade isn't known, but it was clearly a day for dressing up. The cream of Edwardian Hull society has turned out, the gentlemen in toppers and bowlers and the ladies in their finery, including some resplendent hats. It's a grand day for it, if a tad windy... As ever, Mitchell & Kenyon's camera captures each face with fantastic clarity.
Despite the title, the film may in fact have been shot in nearby West Park.
