        Overview

This film was made to mark the visit of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth to Terry’s of York. They arrive at the factory to great fanfare and are greeted warmly by the workers that have lined the streets in anticipation of his visit.

King George VI reigned from 1936 until his death in 1952. He was succeeded by his daughter, Queen Elizabeth II, who has become Britain’s longest-reigning monarch. Terry’s, a popular confectionary company, operated in York from 1767-1993. Their most famous product is probably their Terry’s Chocolate Orange, which was first introduced in 1932.
