Overview

From the number of buses arriving on Gt Yarmouth's Marine Parade, this looks like it's a 'sell out' event. Grannies and Grandpas galore, arrive for an afternoon al fresco at the popular Marina theatre where big band legend 'Neville Bishop and his Orchestra' were topping the bill. The Band were a popular draw all round the resorts in the 50s playing 3 shows a day and people would converge on Gt Yarmouth from miles around including amateur cine enthusiast, Geoffrey Campling.

Geoffrey was onboard the bus from his home in Alpington, just south of Norwich. The trip was one of the many outings organised by the popular pub landlady of the 'Wheel of Fortune', Mrs Bilham - the jolly lady in sun hat and blue coat filmed in the last scene. By all accounts, it was an enjoyable day out and the film would have provided yet more entertainment for the village when shown back home.
