Sometimes all a fellow wants to do is get ready for bed in peace, but this unfortunate soul finds himself tormented by early cinema tricks. Each time he tries to remove an item, it springs back on to his body. The actor's bald-pate, full whiskers and checked trousers suggest the exaggerated dress of a music-hall comedian, but the joke rests entirely on cinema trickery. When he throws away a garment, the camera is paused; then it is replaced and the camera begins filming again. Voila, movie magic!
