Aerial views of the ocean liner, Windsor Castle, on the Mersey.
We take a bird's eye view of the RMS Windsor Castle as she travels down the Mersey, passing the Three Graces on LIverpool's waterfront. Built at the Cammell-Laird shipyard in Birkenhead, she was launched by Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother in June 1959, and her fitting-out was completed a year later.
At that time, the RMS Windsor Castle was the largest liner to have been built in England. She was built for the Union-Castle Line, carrying passengers and cargo on the Britain-South Africa route.
