        Overview

Amongst Belfast's oldest bakeries, the Kennedy family had been involved in baking in the city as far back as 1793. For decades the bakery in Beechmount, in west Belfast, was one of the major employers in the area. The arrival of major supermarkets and demand for cut-price bread saw Kennedy's close its doors in 1998. Here, however, you can relive the Kennedy's heyday, when it daily produced a delectable bounty of breads and much-loved delicacies such as Paris buns.
