Horsham Cricket Week and Grand Carnival, Thursday July 24th
Sussex take on Lancashire in this charming film of Horsham Cricket Week and Grand Carnival
Overview
This charming film of Horsham's 1913 Cricket Week and Grand Carnival sees Sussex take on Lancashire in the County Championship at Cricket Field Road. Opening the batting for Lancashire are Albert Hornby and the great Harry Makepeace, also a gifted footballer who played on Everton's FA Cup winning team in 1906. Some lovely scenes from Horsham town centre, including West Street decked out in festive bunting, give way to the 11th Hussars displaying their skills with tent-pegging and horseback wrestling.
