From Back to Back
From woolly sheep to satisfied customer - come and see how to produce a Co-operative coat.
From the collection of:
Overview
A publicity film for C.W.S. menswear, in which a young man buying a coat learns the full story behind his purchase. As his tailor tells the tale, we see how raw wool from the sheep's back is treated, spun and woven into cloth, then cut and sewn to become the garment the customer can admire in the shop mirror. The young man is particularly pleased with his new coat as he now knows how it was made.
The preservation of this film was funded by a grant from the National Heritage Memorial Fund.
