Overview

This film with its stunning photography gives a British perspective on the industrial problems and progress in Northern Ireland. Take a whistle stop tour around the province’s industries from the glowing furnaces of Belfast’s shipyards to the kilns of Wade Pottery in Portadown. Despite the dated tone of the narration it is a pleasure to watch women at work across the country hand painting linen, creating ceramic insulators and collecting rents for the Housing executive.
